ActronAir Controllers: A Practical Guide

Genuine ActronAir QUE Touch wall controller — Actron Spare Parts

Your wall controller is how you talk to your ActronAir system — it sets the temperature, runs the schedule, manages your zones, and shows you what the system is doing. When it stops working, the whole system can feel dead even if everything else is fine. The single most important thing to know about ActronAir controllers is that they are matched to a specific control platform: a QUE controller, a NEO controller, an ESP controller, and an M-Series controller are not interchangeable. This guide explains the main ActronAir control platforms, how to tell which one you have, and the reliable way to get the right genuine replacement.

Why the Control Platform Matters Most

With many parts, getting close is good enough. With controllers, it isn’t. ActronAir has used several generations of control system, and each speaks its own language to the equipment. A controller built for one platform will not correctly run another — even if it physically fits the wall plate, and even if the model numbers look similar. Fitting the wrong platform’s controller is one of the most common ordering mistakes, and an avoidable one. So the goal of this page is not to help you guess from a model number — it’s to help you identify your platform, then let us confirm the exact part.

The ActronAir Control Platforms

Here are the main families, so you can recognise which one you’re likely dealing with:

  • QUE — ActronAir’s colour touchscreen platform. The QUE Touch wall controller (QTW/QTB-1000) has a 5.7″ colour touch screen with built-in Wi-Fi. Its zoning and sensors are wireless RF accessories — the QUE Zone (QZW/QZB-100) and QUE Sensor (QSW/QSB-10).

  • NEO — ActronAir’s wall controller platform used on systems such as the Advance series. NEO systems use their own matched boards, including the NEO side PCB (the wireless device controller).

  • ESP / M-Series — the long-running programmable wall controllers (model numbers in the L-series, such as LR7, LC7, LM7 and LM24), including ESP Plus and ESP Ultima variants with zone control. Ultima zoning uses the LM-ZC zone controller and LM-ZS zone sensor.

  • Classic — ActronAir’s Classic systems use their own matched controls and boards (for example the Classic Series 2 soft starter, SS9R10).

  • Commercial controls — larger and commercial systems use dedicated controls such as the CM100 commercial controller and the CL01/CP05/CP10 control interfaces, often with BMS connectivity (MODBUS/BACnet) via interface cards.

How to Tell Which Controller You Have

You usually don’t need to know the platform name — you just need to give us enough to identify it. The most useful things to note are:

  • What the controller looks like — a colour touchscreen, a simpler LCD with buttons, or an older programmable display. (A 5.7″ colour touchscreen, for example, points to QUE.)

  • Any model number on the controller itself — often on a label on the back or underside.

  • Your system’s model number — from the compliance plate on the indoor or outdoor unit.

  • Whether you have zones, and how they’re controlled — wireless zone controllers, wired sensors, or a wall-mounted zone panel.

A clear photo of the controller (front and the label on the back) plus the unit’s model number is usually all we need.

Wall Controllers, Zone Control & Accessories

“Controllers” covers more than the main wall control. The genuine ActronAir range also includes the parts that work with it:

  • Zone controllers and sensors — to set and read the temperature in individual zones (for example QUE Zone/Sensor, or the Ultima LM-ZC/LM-ZS).

  • Zone modules — the boards that actually switch or modulate the zones (4-zone and 8-zone modules, including VAV modulation on Ultima and Platinum QUE).

  • Control interfaces and time clocks — such as the CL01, CP05 and CP10.

  • Remote and duct sensors — for temperature averaging and ducted sensing.

  • System protection and BMS — soft starters, 3-phase protection, and BMS interface cards for building management systems.

Because these are matched to your platform too — right down to the zone cabling and connections — the same rule applies: confirm before you order.

Getting the Right Genuine Controller

Controllers and their accessories are matched to your specific ActronAir platform, and our store search doesn’t support model numbers — so the reliable way is to talk to us. Send a photo of your existing controller (front, and the label on the back), along with your system’s model number from the compliance plate, and our team will confirm the exact genuine ActronAir controller or accessory for your system. Call 1300 904 554 or email actron@nationalacparts.com.au. A two-minute check now saves ordering the wrong platform.
