ActronAir Drainage: A Practical Guide

Genuine ActronAir condensate drain pump — Actron Spare Parts.

Cooling produces condensation — a lot of it on a humid day — and your system’s drainage components carry that water safely away. When something in the drainage path blocks or fails, the water has nowhere to go, and you get the classic symptom: water dripping from the indoor unit. This guide explains the drainage parts, why leaks happen, and how to get the right genuine replacement.

The Drainage Parts

  • Drain pan (tray) — catches condensation from the indoor coil.

  • Drain hose / line — carries the water away by gravity.

  • Condensate pump — where water can’t drain by gravity, a pump lifts it to a drain point. A failed pump is a common cause of leaks.

  • Connectors, fittings and float switches — the smaller parts that join the path and, in some cases, shut the system down if water backs up.

Why ActronAir Systems Leak Water

The most common causes are a blocked condensate drain, a full or cracked drain pan, a failed condensate pump, or a frozen coil thawing faster than the drain can cope. We cover this in detail on our ActronAir leaking water guide — but in short, a leak almost always means the water can’t get away, and the fix is to clear or replace the part that’s blocking it.
